5 Things I’ll Never Say During Your Shoot
A photoshoot can already feel a little vulnerable.
You’re in front of a camera, trying to remember what to do with your hands, wondering if your smile looks natural, and probably thinking, “Am I doing this right?”
At KKP Brand Photo + Video, my job isn’t just to take great photos. It’s to make sure you feel comfortable, confident, and like yourself throughout the entire process.
So here are 5 things you’ll never hear me say during your shoot:
1. “No, you can’t look at the photo yet.”
Want to see how it’s looking? Absolutely.
I actually want you to see the photos throughout your session. It can help you feel more comfortable, figure out what you like, and build confidence as we go.
2. “You look awkward.”
If something feels awkward, we’ll fix it. 😂
Maybe we need to change the pose, move you somewhere else, adjust the lighting, or try a different angle. You don’t have to figure it out on your own.
3. “I can tell you hate getting your picture taken.”
I already know you might not love being in front of the camera.
You don’t have to be naturally comfortable or know exactly what to do. You just have to show up. I’ll take care of the rest.
4. “Okay, now do something candid.”
Instead, I’ll give you something to do.
Real candid moments usually happen when you’re actually moving, talking, working, laughing, or interacting with something. I’d rather create those moments than ask you to pretend they’re happening.
5. “We don’t have time for outfit changes.”
Bring the outfits.
Changing your look is one of the easiest ways to create variety during your session and give you completely different content to work with.
Because your brand shoot should feel less like “Ugh, I have to take pictures” and more like:
“Wait… I actually LOVE these.”
That’s the goal every time.
